About me

Nature, in the common sense, refers to essences unchanged by man; space, the air, the river, the leaf. Art is applied to the mixture of his will with the same things, as in a house, a canal, a statue, a picture.

But his operations taken together are so insignificant, a little chipping, baking, patching, and washing, that in an impression so grand as that of the world on the human mind, they do not vary the result.

The sun setting through a dense forest.
Wind turbines standing on a grassy plain, against a blue sky.
The sun shining over a ridge leading down into the shore. In the distance, a car drives down a road.

Undoubtedly we have no questions to ask which are unanswerable. We must trust the perfection of the creation so far, as to believe that whatever curiosity the order of things has awakened in our minds, the order of things can satisfy. Every man’s condition is a solution in hieroglyphic to those inquiries he would put.

Why this website?

The words I wish I never had to write

Finance literacy should be seen as knowing how to read or write: a basic human right taught in school rather than left to be figured out alone.

The gap in financial knowledge across different countries isn’t just due to differences in education systems; it reflects broader societal priorities. While Vietnam boasts an impressive adult literacy rate of 96.6% in 2023, one of the highest in Southeast Asia, we still have 6.1 million people who lack a basic understanding of financial concepts. This shows that financial education is significantly undervalued. Children like myself grow up mastering subjects like mathematics, science, and literature, but we leave school knowing little about critical life skills like saving and managing money. However, our schools are not to blame, but rather the habit of avoiding speaking of money that many adopted. Still, financial literacy must be integrated into education so the next generation is better equipped to navigate real-world challenges.

Inspiring Others

As you explore my posts, you may come across concepts that are either unclear or even inaccurate, and I genuinely encourage feedback through the comments. The goal of this website isn’t to be a comprehensive, one-stop shop for personal finance lessons. Instead, it aims to help you, the readers, develop a strong foundation of financial knowledge and inspire further dive into this crucial subject. Furthermore, for those of us with the skills and understanding of finance, this is a call to take on the responsibility of bridging the gap for millions of Vietnamese people. Together, we can ensure that future generations are equipped with the tools they need to succeed financially.
